Budget 2026: The Union for the first time budget is presented on a Sunday! Lok Sabha Speaker About Birla confirmed the date for Budget 2026 on Monday and said the Union Budget would be announced on Sunday, February 1.The upcoming Union Budget will be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. This is the eighth time she has presented the budget in Parliament.The announcement came after Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced the schedule for the budget session of Parliament last week. The meeting will take place in two phases between January 28th and April 2nd. Rijiju shared the decision on social media and said, “On the recommendation of the Government of India, Honorable President of India, SMT.” Droupadi Murmu ji has approved convening both Houses of Parliament for the 2026 Budget Session. The session will begin on January 28, 2026 and continue until April 2, 2026.” He added that the first phase of the session will end on February 13 while the second phase will begin on March 9. The Union Budget is likely to be presented on February 1, which falls on a Sunday this year.The budget session is the first parliamentary session of every calendar year. It begins with the President’s address to a joint session of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, followed by legislative and financial business. The budget session is followed by the monsoon session in July-August and the winter session in November-December.
