GURGAON: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped throughout the night by three men from her own village who lured her to the fields in Nuh. The defendants, all of whom knew the girl from before, allegedly threatened to distribute videos of the incident online if she spoke out, leaving her fearful and isolated.According to an FIR lodged at Sadar Tauru police station on Saturday, the three men – identified as Waseem, Afroz and another Waseem – allegedly forced the girl to maintain contact with them for several months.
Her father told police that the defendant gave her a cell phone and pressured her to stay in touch. He warned that any attempt to break off contact would result in the release of compromising videos taken months earlier.On Friday evening, one of the defendants is said to have called the girl, threatening to damage her family’s reputation. She was taken to a tubewell in the middle of fields on the outskirts of the village, where they allegedly took turns sexually abusing her.When the girl did not return home after a few hours, her family began searching for her throughout the night, but to no avail.“It was around 11 am the next morning when the girl came home and narrated her ordeal. There are allegations that the families of the accused had threatened the girl and her father,” an official said.A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Pocso law and the BNS, which involves aggravated sexual assault, criminal intimidation and unlawful imprisonment.(The victim’s identity was not revealed to protect her privacy in accordance with Supreme Court guidelines on sexual assault cases.)
