NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday launched a broadside against it Rahul Gandhi after he targeted the Saffron Party while speaking at an event in Berlin, Germany.BJPNational spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari claimed that Rahul and congress want “chaos and unrest in Indian democracy” “From the fight against the Indian state to the threat of anarchy. Rahul Gandhi’s Congress with its ideological sponsor George Soros wants chaos and unrest in Indian democracy.” “Rahul is going abroad to unite such anti-India forces,” Bhandari wrote in a post on X.“Congress hates Indian democracy. Congress hates Bharat’s progress. Rahul Gandhi’s Congress wants anarchy!” he added.Union Minister of State Shobha Karandjale also attacked the Congress leader and alleged that he was going abroad to “speak against the nation”.“Rahul Gandhi is not the opposition leader but an anti-India leader who goes abroad and speaks against the nation. What does he want to achieve with this? He still acts like a child, not a leader.“There is no talk about developments in Karnataka, only about who will stay as CM,” she added.Earlier, Rahul Gandhi, speaking at the Hertie School in Berlin, accused the BJP of “hijacking the country’s institutional framework” and described it as an “attack” on the democratic system.Rahul alleged that the Center had “armed” the investigative agencies and suggested a quid pro quo where businessmen in India would provide financial support to the BJP and not the opposition parties.“There is a wholesale capitulation of our institutional framework. Our intelligence agencies, ED and CBI, have been used as weapons. ED and CBI have no cases against the BJP and most political cases are against the people who oppose them. If you are a businessman and try to support the Congress, you will be threatened. BJP is using India’s institutional framework as a tool to build political power. Look at the money that the BJP and the opposition have,” he said.“There is an attack on the democratic system. We must find ways to counter it. We will create a system of oppositional resistance that will succeed. We are not fighting the BJP but its capture of the Indian institutional structure,” he added.Additionally, the Congress leader claimed that India and the West had “handed over” production of goods to China, saying Chinese-made goods had crippled job creation in democracies and fueled political turmoil across India, the United States and Europe.“The West and to some extent India have handed over production to the Chinese. China now dominates production, which means it is difficult to provide employment to large numbers of people. Countries like India, the US and Germany cannot create their jobs based on services if we cannot produce,” he said.“A lot of the turmoil we’re seeing in Europe, India and the US, the polarization of politics, is because we can’t give our people jobs because we’ve said: China, you produce for the world,” he added.Rahul Gandhi is on a five-day visit to Germany. His comments came after he claimed that manufacturing in India was declining.During his visit to the BMW Welt Museum in Munich on December 17, he said: “Manufacturing is the backbone of strong economies.” Unfortunately, production in India is declining.
